Outstanding Issue fixed/PCI Booked - WK 33

Week 33

Mon 18 Aug - Sun 24 Aug 2014 (Day 168-172)

As at start of the week the below were the outstanding issues that needed to be addressed by the builder:-
- Main Bathroom En suite Window (translucent film to be removed)
- Covering for External wall vents
- Gap above Kitchen/ Pantry windows
- Water Meter relocation
- Change External sensor lights (Single globes as opposed to double have been ordered/installed)
- Excess Dry Concrete removed from Rear of Garage

Mon 18 Aug - Called Admin  - Day 168
After 3 weeks of no movements/activities at the house I had to but contact admin to see whats going on. Admin couldn't tell me much as no updates was provided to her also so she arranged SS to call me directly to address my concerns / outstanding issues.

Tue 19 Aug - Sight Supervisor called  - Day 169

SS eventually called me today (finally!!!) but again 'no date'..
SS called to run through the last few items/issue I raised (some dates back to start of the build) and then advised he will address my issues and contact me in few weeks to book PCI.
I was not at all pleased when I heard that..  I went on asking him why there hasn't been any progress on the house the last few weeks but all he could advise was he's been working on other builds around that is at the same stages as mine ... I grunted  ::sad:: ::angry:: ::sad:: ::angry:: and stated 'thats what you told me last time we spoke  3 weeks ago'  . So in the end we comprised that he'll call back Friday and we can work when we can book in PCI. ( I am happy with that, even if its in a few weeks at least I have a date to work towards) ;-);-);-)

Wed 20 Aug - NO Work  - Day 170

Thu 21 Aug - Additional Sight Clean/ Issue Addressed  - Day 171
:lol:Weekly Contract Admin status update:-
SS is arranging to addressed the issued that has been raised, and is organising another internal house clean, internal QA checks and will contact client at end of week to book in PCI inspection.

After (3) weeks  of no activities we finally have some update to post
Even though they were just at the house fixing the bits and pieces we raised but its such a better feeling than how I've been feeling the last few weeks I tell you.

Below  visible today::smile::::smile::::smile::

Main Bathroom En suite Window (translucent film removed)
Anyone know how they remove this film without replacing/ damaging windows????

Covering for External wall vents

Gap above Kitchen/ Pantry windows covered

Excess Dry Concrete removed from Rear of Garage

Before

After

Rear Garage Door Lock Fitted

This shows they can knock off all the issues in one day if they really wanted too !!!

Fri 22 Aug - PCI Booked  - Day 172
I thought this would be another week of disappointment but finally just after lunch the SS called to advise what needed to be done next. He asked for me to arrange for my independent inspector to come do the inspection next Wednesday 27th August (alone)  and have with me report come PCI day.
So yes I finally PCI inspection  has been booked for Tuesday 02 September @ 7:30am (Week 35) I know abit early but at least I now have a date to work with :z::z::z:
I was told by admin they have 14 days to fix any defect after PCI so hoping I get the the keys by Fri 19th September ( (Week 37) ::lol::::lol::::lol:: Hmm lets see

Still Awaiting PCI - WK 32

Week 32

Mon 11 Aug - Sun  17 Aug  2014 (Day 163-167)

It is now beyond a joke as its been three (3) whole weeks since the sight fence and hired equipment were removed and yet I am still wating for the SS to call and book the PCI inspection ::sad:: ::sad::

Despite my Contract Admin advising me last week that the SS was due to call this week to book me in for the PCI inspection, BUT it did not happen... I am now getting very frustrated as the house has been left in the same state it was three weeks ago and there are STILL a few items thatI raised early on yet have not been actioned.
I must say I was fortunate we did not run into major hiccups during the build but the last few weeks just waiting for the final inspection is really making me think twice with building again with volume builders or am I just one of those unlucky ones???

Besides the company Premiumoz returning to replace the crack MasterBedroom Mirror Robe, no other work was done at the house.

Gas Meter Installed - WK 30

Week 30

Mon 28 Jul - Sun  03 Aug  2014 (Day 153-157)

Not much to  update this week besides Gas Company (Energy Australia) called to to advise they were coming out to connect the Gas meter and the Kitcehn Island Pendant lights were fitted.

So most of my week was spent running around getting quote from different plumbers to see the cost of relocating the Water Meter post handover.
Tip for those starting to build, make sure you check the location of your water meter as its NOT cheap to relocate ::sad:: ::sad:: We getting quotes of $1500 to relocate and thats excluding the application fees to Water Company.

As you can see from the photo below its currently located infront of my garage /driveway, so much of having a extra garage where we cannot even get our car in ::sad::

Site Fence and port-a-loo REMOVED - WK 29

Week 29

Mon 21 Jul - Sun  19 Jul 2014 (Day 148-152)

Well well what a week it has been, we had tradies in and out of the home to fix up last minute fixtures and finally all the hired equipement (Temp Fence, Port--loo and Sight cage) have been removed.
The house looks very different feels like I am exposing it to the public

 Work of the week
- Sight clean and fill
- Temporary Fence and Port-loo removed
- Plumbing & Telephone Line Trenching
- LED downlight and External light fittings
- Stairs polish and vanished
- Internal house paint touch ups

Mon 21 Jul - Sight clean and sight fill  - Day 148

At long last the sight has had another sight clean (and I think this may be the last one too) So there is no excuse for people to dump rubbish on my property anymore.

Tue 22 Jul - Temporary Fence and Port-a-loo Removed  - Day 149
The temporary fence and port-a loo were removed off sight today.  It sure makes a BIG difference to the house appearance. But now I am worried that it makes is so easy for just anyone to walk into the property ::sad:: ::sad::

Also the electrician were back on sight to finish off the remainder of ground floor light fittings, also got to see a sneak peak of the partial kitchen pendant lights (only the pendant no globe as yet) Think this is just incase it gets stolen.

Received a call from the Contract admin today stating that Master Bedroom windows to the master have to NOW be fully translucent because A&L windows do not do 1700mm high translucent  windows and these needed to be translucent or else  wont pass for occupancy permit.

Apparently due to the 3pm shadow , these windows needed to be at a minimal 1700mm translucent which we were advised need to be done in order to get the building permit approved.  But now they going to be fully translucent (No more view from my bedroom) ::sad::

Wed 23 Jul - Plumbing and Telephone Line Trenching  - Day 150
The trenching to the Plumbing and Telephone lines were done today

Thu 24 Jul - Rendering Touch ups- Day 151
Today we had the Render er returned to do some last minute touch up to the render chips around the front of the home (specially around the Double garage door -high traffic areas!!!)

Fri 25 Jul - Stairs Polished and Vanished - Day 152
SS had organised the painters to come back today and do the internal paint touch up and also polish and vanish the stairs

Here are couple of photos

Wed 16 Jul - House Cleaned and Carpet underlay - Day 144

Whats wrong with this photo???

Received a call from the Contract admin call today stating that the SS has been on sight and has pointed out an issue with the Showerhead.
Apparently the shower heads that I selected from the standard range - Brewers- Rain Jet Hand Shower (1 function / RHS1F) is not suitable and is position too low.

Burbank advised they will not hand-over a house like this and will raise a variation to change showerhead over to Brewers Rain Jet 4 Wall Bar Kit (4 function/ RWB4F) without any charge ( NOW who will not be happy with that :z::z::z::z:)
Believe it or not originally we wanted to upgrade to this type of Showerhead+ Wall Bar but due to budget we went with standard.

Once again it was busy at the house today we had the Gas Line Trenched and the house has been cleaned (no more muddy foot prints) and finally but not least the Carpet Underlay was also in
